Insect Screen Installed on Roof Vents Keeps Insects Out

Due to the fact that many chemical applications are prohibited and that insects have gained
resistance to insecticides, Agra Tech has engineered insect screen systems for its roof vents.

There are two types of screen frames available. One is fixed insect screen with nylon brushes through which the racks pass. A new design that opens like an accordion has recently been developed.

The advantage of the accordion system is that there is slightly more screen material. This is
particularly important with screens designed to filter smaller insects such as Thrips and whiteflies. These tightly woven screens are more resistant to airflow and the greater the square foot of screen, the greater the airflow. Another advantage of the accordion screen system is that the screen is neatly folded when closed to maximize light transmission.

The lightweight but durable screen fabric is constructed of UV-stabilized acrylic and polyethylene materials, offering between 4-8 years of protection. Coupling the insect screen with Agra Tech’s smooth running roof vents helps alleviate insects from the greenhouse environment.

(The screen is sold separately.)
